King Raghavendra - 4

Story so far: Sage Yogananda's advise had a positive impact on Raghavendra. For the first time ever since he became the ruler, he began to accord due attention towards the welfare of his subjects. He came to the rescue of hapless peasants who were unduly exploited by Zamindars, encouraged children to get education and even explored their talent in the musical field with due assistance from his Queen. A major problem that plagued the kingdom was rampant theft. One day an old man and a young lad met the King where the former accused the latter of stealing his valuables. The young person denied the allegations. Raghavendra enquired about their background and learnt the truth that the young man was indeed a thief. Instead of punishing him, the King appointed him to catch other thieves! This proved to be a success.
In this chapter 'Ganesha Temple': Some sages met the King and exhorted him to construct a Ganesha temple in the kingdom. They assured him that this would benefit not only him but his descendants. They also offered special powers to those who would be involved in the construction work with the ability to finish it in record time. This was done to fulfill the King's wish to seeing the temple before he died of the curse. Although the work went as planned, Raghavendra became seriously ill as days progressed. It was evident that the Brahmin boy's curse was having its effect. Still at the construction of the beautiful temple, the King decided to have a grand inauguration and invited Sage Yogananda to do the consecration ceremony who gladly accepted it. The great sage wanted to bring along a well-known physician to cure the King which did not materialize. The physician was to come a while later. The ceremony went along very well but Raghavendra's health was deteriorating. Incidentally, the physician Kamejana came to see the King on the day when the curse was to have its effect. Would be succeed in curing the King? Or would the curse turn out to be true? Read the fourth part of this enthralling story to find the answers!
